EMERALD green will be the future as community side Guernsey FC look to return to their roots with their new kit.
The Green Lions today unveiled their home strip, as well as the goalkeeper’s version, which is significantly lighter in shade and more dynamic than the current – many may argue dull – island representative attire.
It will be worn for the first time on Saturday as Guernsey entertain AFC Wimbledon in their inaugural friendly match at Foote’s Lane.
Guernsey football secretary Mark Le Tissier is delighted with the outcome of the new design, which includes the name of main club sponsor Sportingbet emblazoned on the front.

Hi again Laurie – Marcus Gayle is bringing along their kids. Their internet sit states – “We were very pleased to accept and Marcus Gayle will be flying out with a young squad for the game on Saturday 16 July” – so unfortunately no first team in Guernsey. God knows what Guernsey FC will get out of it as I guess they will have paid to fly them all in and accomodate them, I can see the gate being hit when the news gets out that it is not the Wimbledon 1st team

Just as well its not their full first team coming – they beat a Fulham side with several first team players at the weekend !

WATM…..I believe web site will be launched in the next few weeks!! shirts to go on sale then! Hopefully before opening league game!! Exciting times for guernsey football!!! This is a pre season friendly so regardless of what team afc bring its pitch time an groundbreaking as GFC becomes a reality!!! Afc started in the ccl so great opening fixture!! All footy fans i speak to are excited about this and would like to buy shirts!! I think there may be perks for supporting the side in a gfc shirt! Hopefully small dicounts on drinks at the club bar…that will lift the supporters!!!
