Having same coach leaves a loophole

THE Guernsey Football Association chairman has appeared to leave the door open for Guernsey FC’s first-choice players to still play in the Muratti Vase final.
With Chris Schofield’s confirmation that GFC and island coach Tony Vance will have jurisdiction over selection, it has seemingly left a loophole for players to miss the semi-final against Alderney, but still play against Jersey should they win.
The Guernsey Press revealed at the weekend how a GFA rule had been put in place stating that any Sarnian turning down the chance to play for their island would forfeit the opportunity to play in a potential final against Jersey at Springfield.
Speaking on BBC Radio Guernsey yesterday morning, Schofield (pictured) explained Vance’s role, while also distancing himself from claims that a weakened side may be sent to Alderney.

If you are going to make a stance then make a stance – don’t say one thing & then back track a day or so later!!
