THERE is no denying that Guernsey need the break they get next weekend.

As they walked, or in many cases hobbled, from the Footes Lane pitch following a hard-fought victory over Thanet Wanderers, the home players looked like a group who have played nine consecutive weekends for the first time in their league history.

‘Right now I feel like dying,’ was player-coach Jordan Reynolds’ initial reaction as he slowly made his way back to the dressing room with his calves cramping up.

However, he also had a word of warning for his troops.
