DECLAN HAMON netted a dream day out when he won the chance to be Guernsey FC’s matchday mascot for last Saturday’s game against Hartley Wintney at Footes Lane.

The six-year-old won the competition, run jointly by GFC and the Guernsey Press, to lead out the Green Lions for the match. His prize also included a warm-up with the players and a behind-the-scenes tour of the ground, including the dressing rooms.

Ahead of the game, Declan’s favourite Guernsey FC player, left-back Ollie McKenzie, told the youngster he thought the Lions would win the game 3-1. But they were to do even better in the crunch clash, coming out resounding 4-0 victors.

Young Hamon also got a GFC home shirt and a signed team photo as part of his prize.

This selection of photos of Declan enjoying his time with Guernsey FC was taken by Max Coomer.
