THERE can be no doubting where the balance of power in the Island Games pool lies after another brilliant evening of Guernsey domination.
Four gold medals, all in new record times, including one by the relay ‘dream team’, to add to a further two silvers and four bronzes, means that the Sarnians swimmers have won a staggering 29 medals so far.
Some neutrals were probably getting tired of hearing Sarnia Cherie after just three races of the 10 on offer, such was the trailblazing start by Guernsey.
Tom Hollingsworth produced arguably the individual performance of the night as he took a sizeable 1.39sec. off the previous Games record in the opening race of the night, the 100m individual medley.
