GUERNSEY’S ‘man in Brussels’ has held high-level talks with the European Commission to detail the Channel Islands’ stance on the UK decision to scrap VAT relief on low value goods exported from the islands.

HAVING permanent representatives in Brussels means the island can be much more proactive in identifying opportunities, the head of international relations said yesterday.
