SENIOR Condor officers should have had their ‘eyes glued to the radar’ to compensate for bad weather on the morning the Vitesse crashed into a French fishing boat, a radar specialist has said.

An inquiry report into the fatal collision between Condor Vitesse and a French fishing boat in March this year carries a strong ‘health warning’ about its purpose.

A FRENCH fisherman ‘recoiled’ when he saw Condor Vitesse suddenly emerge from thick fog seconds before it smashed into his vessel, hurling him into the sea.

A GRANVILLE fishing boat which sank after a collision with the Condor Vitesse in March was raised from the seabed off the Minquiers at the weekend.
