SCOT Steven Allan ended a disappointed Gary Pitschou’s dream of a world title in South Wales yesterday.

GARY PITSCHOU has qualified for the final of the WIBC world indoor bowls men’s singles championship, for the second time in five years.

ALTHOUGH last night’s clash between Guernsey’s Gary Pitschou and Scottish bowls champion Iain McLean at the Islwyn club in Pontllanfraith, Gwent, was of academic interest only, it was still a battle worth watching, with bragging rights attached.

GARY PITSCHOU and Steve Desperques were beaten in straight sets in both their group matches in Ayrshire yesterday, and have probably lost their chance of qualifying for tomorrow’s WIBC World Championships men’s singles quarter-finals.
