THE Policy Council has survived a challenge to its authority.

WHAT at first sight appears to be a simple spat between the Policy Council and the House Committee – over how members are appointed to sub-groups – has the potential to become a divisive issue and one that could damage the ability of the House to work effectively over the next four years.

WHAT is known as the House Committee is shortly to seek to be called the States Assembly and Constitution Committee and new chairman Ivan Rihoy today sets out on page 17 a robust agenda for reform that would alone justify the name change.

ANOTHER political board is set to open up its decision-making process.

THE new States will decide later this year whether to consider island-wide voting.
