THE weekend brought more good news from Down Under with Ian and Alison Merrien marching on confidently into the knockout stages of the men’s and women’s Bowls World Cup at the Warilla club in New South Wales.

YESTERDAY could not have gone better for the Guernsey husband-and-wife pairing, Ian and Alison Merrien, who are strutting their stuff in the World Cup at the Warilla bowls club in New South Wales.

SEVEN titles out of 10 were up for grabs during two days of CI Championship action at the Hougue du Pommier and it was an undoubted triumph for the home contingent.

IAN MERRIEN coped admirably with his handicap of a broken arm to win the Guernsey indoor men’s singles title for a second time.
