JUST days after an alcohol- free zone was brought in at La Vallette Bathing Pools, beer bottles have been smashed and rubbish left littering the site.

BUSINESSES and bathing pool users have welcomed the early reopening of the road at La Vallette.

They attracted hundreds in the past, but La Vallette’s grand old bathing pools have been allowed to fall into disrepair. But at last – thanks to a pool entrepreneur – they are being restored to their former glory, reports Rob Batiste.

A FATHER has complained to the Culture and Leisure Department after his young daughter was swept from rocks at La Vallette by waves created by a passing ferry.
