GUERNSEY producers have been pitching to see their produce on the shelves of a major UK supermarket.

THE best of Guernsey produce will feature in a national TV programme along with the island’s top TV celebrity, Dawn Porter.

THIS meal, pictured right, could have travelled nearly 11,000 miles to reach Guernsey, or it could have travelled fewer than five.

MORE can still be done to help growers of local produce, according to Anne Sandwith of Guernsey Organic Growers.

PRODUCE grown locally will display new labelling in an initiative by the Guernsey Growers’ Association to encourage shoppers to support the industry.
