GUERNSEY have produced a set of world champions after John Richardson and Tom Sauvarin achieved debut glory in the 3b World Offshore Powerboating Championships.

THE Guernsey Powerboat Association safety team were hailed as ‘outstanding’ by several members after their speedy reactions prevented any major problems in the North Beach Inner Race on Sunday.

JACQUES VERMEULEN’S Batboat 23 scored a fine double in the waters of the Little Russel and around Herm.

DESPITE the horrendous weather conditions, last month’s World Offshore Championship have been hailed a great success by the powerboating establishment.
