ELIZABETH College students hold sway after a weather-interrupted Guernsey Rifle Club Spring Prize Meeting which will have to be completed in high summer.

ALTHOUGH Nick Branch found himself languishing in sixth place following the first stage, the Guernsey Rifle Club champion in 2009 and 2010 took the second stage silver medal after an exciting battle with Richard Perkins that was decided only on the last shot.

RICHARD PERKINS, a mainstay of the Guernsey Rifle Club over many years, has started the 2011 season in sparkling fashion with four wins out of four.

EVEN though he was leading the field as the Queen’s Prize final got under way at Bisley on Saturday afternoon, Nick Mace needed the shoot of his life to stay in front and take the coveted prize.

LED by Jersey champion Alex Langley, the CI shooting team completed a clean sweep of the medal positions in the Dave Smith Cup on day two of the Grand Aggregate competitions in Bloemfontein, South Africa.
