PRINCE CHARLES will be visiting the island as part of the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations, it has been revealed.

THERE was a certain irony that as Guernsey was welcoming the Princess Royal and celebrating its links with the Crown, Her Majesty’s Government in the UK was busily preparing to remove a trade freedom in contravention of privileges granted over the centuries by successive monarchs.

A whirlwind tour of the island by the Princess Royal included visits to two schools, a chance to see young rugby players in action and tours of the ambulance station and marine ambulance Flying Christine III.
