A MOTHER of a St Anne’s School pupil feels the Education Department has let her and her son down after a piece of play equipment collapsed on him.

AN OFFICIAL investigation into the collapse of a three-tonne floor beam on the Les Beaucamps High construction site has been concluded.

SOME people living near the under-construction Les Beaucamps High School say they have been seriously misled by the Education Department after a giant steel structure appeared on the skyline.

PUBLICATION this week of a 135-page study of childcare needs showed what most islanders already knew: there is a chronic shortage of affordable help to look after youngsters and that the States should be doing far more to help.

YEAR 10 pupils have given their backing to a change in the law that will keep them at school for another 12 months.
