Getting Here

There are a number of airlines operating into and out of Guernsey, with connections to many major UK airports, including Southampton, London Gatwick, Stansted, Birmingham and Manchester.

Flights operate to these airports on a daily basis.

There are also regular, less frequent, flights to smaller airports in the UK as well as European destinations such as Geneva and Zurich.

Inter-island flights to and from Jersey and Alderney run all day every day at frequent intervals.Sea travel from the UK is handled by one company, Condor Ferries, operating under licence to the States of Guernsey.

The routes to the other islands and France are shared by a number of firms.

Condor’s summer timetable is generally operated by its car carrying Wavepiercer catamaran, with a traditional roll-on roll-off ferry used during the winter and when bad weather prevents the Wavepiercer running in the summer.

Guernsey is a popular port of call for yacht owners, but careful planning is necessary before making a trip owing to the dangerous reefs around the island.

There are also strong currents in the Channel Islands area, and yachtsmen are advised to study the Tidal Atlas.

Visiting yachts are obliged to clear local customs at either St Peter Port Harbour or Beaucette Marina in the North, and a ‘Q’ flag must be flown.

A handbook for visiting yachtsmen, giving marina details, information about the Bailiwick, and a chart of St Peter Port Harbour, may be obtained from the VisitGuernsey website
