At the time of issue there was a Strong Wind Warning in force for the Channel Islands Area.

General Situation:

At 1am, complex low, 990 mb, from the south of Iceland to the southwest of Ireland was moving slowly east . Associated fronts over the southwest Approaches was moving east to clear the Channel early tomorrow evening.

Forecast from 7 am Monday to 7 am Tuesday

  • Wind: Southeast 4 to 5, locally 6 at first, veering south this afternoon then southwest early evening.
  • Forecast: Rain from mid to late morning, occasionally heavy this afternoon with a risk of thunder, clearing by evening then scattered showers.
  • Visibility: Moderate to poor in rain or showers otherwise good.
  • Sea State: Slight to moderate, locally rather rough in the north.
  • Swell: 2 to 4 feet.
